Speed Limits
Interstate and State Highways As Posted
City and Village Streets - 25 m.p.h. in residential districts - 20 m.p.h. in business districts

County Roads - 50 m.p.h. on unpaved county roads

Turn Signals - Appropriate signals must be used when stopping, turning or changing lanes.
Lights - Lights must be used from sunset to sunrise.
Seat Belts - All front seat passengers must wear a passenger restraint.
Child Restraints - All children under the age of five years and weighing less than 40 pounds, must be correctly secured in a federally-approved child safety seat.
Motorcycle Helmets - All motorcycle operators and passengers must wear approved motorcycle helmets.
Right Turn On Red - Operators may make a cautious right turn after stopping at a red traffic signal unless a sign prohibits the turn.
Parking On Highways - A vehicle may not be parked on any highway in a manner which creates a traffic hazard, and never along the Interstate.
Interstate Prohibitions - Pedestrians, hitchhikers, walkers, vehicles not self-propelled, bicycles, motor driven cycles and motor scooters with less than ten horsepower, animals led, driven on the hoof, ridden or drawing a vehicle, funeral processions, and parades or demonstrations are prohibited.
Accidents - All drivers of motor vehicles involved in accidents in which someone is killed or injured or the property of anyone person is damaged in excess of $500, must report the accident in writing to the Department of Roads within ten days. Report forms are available from law enforcement officers. Names and addresses must be exchanged before leaving an accident.
Financial Responsibility - If a driver is involved in a reportable accident and fails to report and show proof of financial responsibility, their driving privileges may be suspended.
Maintenance Vehicles - It is unlawful to follow a highway maintenance vehicle more closely than 100 feet if it is outside a business district, is engaged in a maintenance activity and has an amber or white beacon flashing. This does not prevent the cautious passing of highway maintenance vehicles.
